Terran Orbital is a leading manufacturer of small satellites primarily serving the United States and Allied aerospace and defense industries. Terran Orbital provides end-to-end satellite solutions by combining satellite design, production, launch planning, mission operations, and in-orbit support to meet the needs of the most demanding military, civil, and commercial customers.
The Terran Orbital designed and built Cislunar Autonomous Positioning System Technology Operations and Navigation Experiment, otherwise known as CAPSTONE, is on its way to the Moon. This historic pathfinding lunar satellite launched the morning of June 28 on Rocket Lab’s Lunar Photon aboard an Electron launch vehicle.
The Load Controller is responsible for switching on/off the supply of power to all the modules on the spacecraft, as well as providing primary actuation for torque rods, and gathering temperature data from thermistors not otherwise part of a module.
The Terran Orbital 6U RailPOD is a rail type satellite deployer capable of carrying a single 6U CubeSat payload and serves as the interface between the CubeSat and Launch Vehicle (LV). The Deployer is a rectangular metallic structure made of high-strength aluminum, an ejection spring mechanism, and an internal rail system that interfaces with the CubeSat. This Terran Orbital 6U RailPOD is configured for 366 mm, with a 400 mm length variant also available.
